My daughter had a wart outbreak on her feet and Sheshna Rai did a wonderful consultation, and it was painless! We were able to resolve it with one appt and twice-daily application of a cream that was recommended. Very happy ! I got an ingrown toenail cut out by Bessie, she was very friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Rennie Sundram2024-11-25Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Highly Recommended for Kids' Wart Removal! We had an amazing experience with Dr. Dean for our child’s wart removal. From the moment we walked in, the office was welcoming and child-friendly, which immediately put my little one at ease. Dr. Dean was incredibly gentle, taking the time to explain everything to both of us in a way that felt reassuring. The procedure was quick, pain-free, and effective, and my child had no trouble afterward. Dr. Dean is not only skilled but truly cares about the comfort and well-being of children. The follow-up care was excellent, and we felt fully supported throughout the process. I highly recommend Dr. Dean for any parent looking for a compassionate, expert podiatrist for their child’s wart removal. I recently visited the clinic in Highton to see Dean for the first time because I had an ingrown toenail. He explained everything before and during the procedure. In a short amount of time, he resolved the issues with my toe. It was a very pleasant experience, especially because I was nervous about it. I highly recommend Dean to anyone dealing with ingrown toenails, as he provided me with a pain-free treatment. AAA experience Thank you, Dean Charles Allardyce2024-08-15Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I would highly recommend prosper podiatry, highly experienced and very friendly! Steve Tanic2024-07-08Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Nice people but did not solve a very simple solution that was fixed by another podiatrist. My case was a basic 101 appointment which cost me over $700 with no end result. Fixed elsewhere. Jamie-Lee Edgar2024-05-02Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently took my 2yo to see Dean at Prosper Podiatry and was so impressed with our whole experience. We were graciously greeted upon arrival by the receptionist and my daughter loved playing with the puzzles during our very short wait. Dean’s bedside manner was exceptional and she was so at ease whilst receiving treatment for her ingrown damaged toenail. Dean explained everything perfectly to us and I had a very happy little girl at the end of the appointment. The clinic is easy to access with ample parking. It’s very clean and calming. I highly recommend the services of Prosper Podiatry and will definitely be back should we need further assistance. Bec Stenner2024-02-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently visited Dean for an ingrown toenail that had been causing me significant discomfort, and I couldn't be more grateful for the exceptional care I received. From the very first phone call, I was met with kindness and professionalism that put me at ease. The staff were so accommodating and I was able to get an appointment quickly. During my visit, Dean provided reassurance and clear explanations every step of the way, making what could have been an anxious experience much more comfortable. Lauren Foss2024-02-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dean is THE person to see for your children’s issues with skin on their feet. We saw Dean to treat warts on my 6 year old daughter and he has resolved them painlessly in 3 appointments (we possibly didn’t need the 3rd appt). My daughter loved him, he explained everything to her in terms she understood, gave her fair warning of any procedure and put her in charge of stopping and starting if she felt any pain. This made her want to do all her own aftercare at home as well which not only made it easier for me but also probably helped the problem resolve a lot faster. Reception and admin/parking etc was all easy and friendly as well.

Quality of life
Live a life without fear of ulceration or amputation
How does diabetes affect your feet?
People with diabetes are particularly prone to foot problems. There are more than 4,400 amputations every year in Australia as a result of diabetes. Around 85% of diabetes related amputations are preventable if wounds are detected early and managed appropriately.
Nerves
High and poorly controlled blood sugar levels can damage your nerves. We will notice this damage in your feet first with symptoms of numbness or tingling on your feet, making it difficult to feel pain or injuries. A small cut or blister may go unnoticed and eventually can cause more serious problems like a wound or ulcer.
Bones
Nerve damage in the feet can also cause weakening of the joints, ligaments and tendons, which can lead to fractures and foot deformities. This is a serious and irreversible condition called a Charcot foot.
Blood
Diabetes can also affect the blood vessels in your feet, reducing blood flow and making it harder for you to heal. This delay in healing could result in an ulcer that does not heal.
Amputation
When combined with other factors such as poor footwear, foot trauma and lack of foot care, diabetes can further increase the risk of foot problems like amputation.
How we help people with Diabetes in Highton
Prosper podiatrists play an important role in assessment and management of foot health for individuals with diabetes. Our team of experienced podiatrists specialise in providing diabetic foot risk assessments. We will continually monitor and evaluate your foot health, including checking for any signs of neuropathy, poor circulation, or foot ulcers.
If we find a foot wound/ulcer, we can provide specialised wound care to promote optimal healing and prevent infection.
Our goal is to prevent you from getting a wound or ulcer in the first place! Most foot problems can be prevented with good, regular foot care, and an understanding of how to protect your feet.

What is a Diabetic Foot Risk Assessment?
Our podiatrist will ask questions about your diabetes diagnosis and how it may be a risk to your foot health. The assessment will begin with a full skin assessment where we will check for any signs of cuts, sores, blisters and other injuries that can lead to serious long term problems. We will also seek to identify any fungal skin or nail infections that are common with people who have diabetes.
We will then check blood flow to the feet by feeling for a pulse on top of the foot and another inside the ankle. Similar to the blood pressure measured in your arm, a toe pressure will be measured which will assess the blood flow reaching to the tip of the toes. This test is important to establish the individual’s ability to heal injuries or ulcers. This toe pressure test gives us a number that we can refer to in future assessments to identify any vascular changes BEFORE they become an issue.
Nerve sensitivity will also be assessed. We will determine your level of protective sensation and your risk of falls (proprioception).
A detailed report will be sent to your GP and if there is any concern regarding the reduced blood flow and nerve damage, a recommendation for further investigation will be requested.
The assessment doesn’t stop there!
We also provide a personalised care plan based on your specific needs, which may include recommendations for proper footwear, exercise and foot care to manage and prevent foot complications. We believe that education is key to maintaining healthy feet, and we are committed to providing you with the resources you need to keep your feet healthy and strong.
